Hydrology for Approvals
Overview
Environmental consultants run the approvals process — the EIA, the offset strategy, the Ministerial Statement negotiation. What sits underneath it is a hydrological evidence base that has to survive being read line by line. That half is the work here.
Capabilities
- Surface water evidence for the EPA’s Inland Waters factor — hydrological regime characterisation, predicted change and residual impact against the factor’s objective, rather than the approvals administration itself
- Direct technical support to environmental consultants working DWER clearing permits, EPA WA Part IV assessments and Ministerial Statement conditions
- The surface water half of an inland waters case: discharge to creeks and wetlands, wetland and waterway buffers, salt lake and playa flow behaviour, and closure landform hydrology
- Part IV evidence built with the Part V questions already inside it — the storage volumes, discharge rates and design events a works approval will ask for later, so the footprint drawn on the referral figure and the footprint that can actually be built are the same footprint
- Groundwater–surface water interaction, catchment behaviour and flood-related queries specific to a site’s approvals context
- Findings delivered in a form the lead consultant can drop straight into their submission, not a separate report that needs translating first
