Selected Project
Gold Mine Expansion
Overview
Surface water strategy supporting a staged mine expansion, where site drainage and containment had to keep pace with an evolving pit and waste-landform footprint.
Location
Northern Territory
Sector
Mining & Resources
Scope
Surface Water Management · Hydrology for Approvals
Settling ponds, culverts and surface drainage were redesigned in step with each stage of the expansion — the site's water infrastructure had to keep pace with a footprint that kept changing under it.
Catchment behaviour was re-modelled at each expansion stage so approvals conditions stayed current with the site as it changed, rather than lagging behind construction.
